YOU MIGHT THINK DUE TO MY PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT WITH THE BAND MEGADETH (WAIT, WHUUT?), THAT MY CHOICE TO CALL OUR TRIBE 'ROCKSTARS' IS JUST WITTY AND 'ON-BRAND'.

That’s partially true, but there’s a much deeper meaning behind it that I haven’t shared with many people.

I’ve been around a lot of rockstars - actual rockstars. There are a lot of stereotypes that are true about this particular breed of person - from the egos to the lifestyles to the tour stories.

But here’s the thing:

TO BE A TRUE ROCKSTAR MEANS YOU HAVE ACTUAL TALENT (INSTEAD OF AUTO-TUNED FAKENESS).

You’ve “made it” in the music industry as a means to support your lifestyle.

That means…

  • you are driven beyond any obstacle to express your talent…
  • you have the guts and courage to get up there on stage at the mercy of public opinion and maybe some beer bottle throwing...
  • you practice, practice, and practice some more...
  • you know one or a handful of songs will be a hit, but some (hopefully lots) are awesome, and you push yourself to be better...
  • you have a deep-seeded passion for what you love and what you want to share with the world.

THERE'S A STRONG CORRELATION BETWEEN THOSE OUTSTANDING CHARACTERSITICS AND WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEUR.

You will do anything and everything to pursue your entrepreneurial dream.

You work longer and harder than you ever would at a day job…

...because you want to.

You know your friends, family, even spouses don’t always “get the entrepreneur thing” but it’s ok because you believe in what you want to share with the world.

When something doesn’t work you get back up over and over to make it better.

Guess what? 

You are a Rockstar.
